Shawna Kibuta is a sociologist and counselor with a Masters in Global and Sociocultural Studies from Florida International University and a Masters in Counseling from Southern Adventist University. She currently works as a professional school counselor for Albuquerque Public Schools. She specializes in the areas of career and multicultural counseling, social and cultural anthropology, immigration and refugees, prejudice and discrimination, social stratification, and other social policy issues. She is also the secretary of the board of directors for the non-profit advocacy group American Families United (AFU).
